Trae Young made a crucial 3-pointer with 7.4 seconds left in overtime, helping the Atlanta Hawks defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 134-132 on Friday.
Young finished with 31 points and 20 assists, while De’Andre Hunter added 26 points off the bench. This win marked the Hawks’ sixth consecutive victory. Bogdan Bogdanovic contributed 20 points, Onyeka Okongwu had 15, and Jalen Johnson added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Zaccharie Risacher and Dyson Daniels each scored 11 points.
LeBron James led the Lakers with 39 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, while Anthony Davis had 38 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Dalton Knecht scored 14 points, and Rui Hachimura and Gabe Vincent each had 12 points. The Lakers lost their third straight game.
With 1:44 left in overtime, Vincent’s 3-pointer gave the Lakers a 130-127 lead. Daniels and Davis then traded baskets before Johnson’s two free throws pulled the Hawks within one with 36.9 seconds remaining. After Young’s game-winning 3-pointer, James missed a 3-pointer as time expired.
