The New York Knicks have reached an agreement with guard Landry Shamet, as confirmed by his agent, George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group, in a statement on Sunday.

Shamet initially signed with the Knicks in September but was waived after suffering a dislocated shoulder during a preseason game. Prior to the injury, he was expected to make the regular season roster.

Now fully recovered, Shamet is rejoining the team. Over the past week, he played for the Knicks’ G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, where he averaged nearly 11 points per game.

Throughout his six-year career, Shamet has averaged 10.8 points in 22 minutes per game and has made 38.4% of his three-point attempts.

New York head coach Tom Thibodeau praised Shamet several times during training camp, emphasizing how he could contribute to the team.

Thibodeau specifically mentioned Shamet’s previous experience playing alongside Mikal Bridges and Cameron Payne, both of whom joined the Knicks this summer.
