The partnership’s scope underscores NBCUniversal’s commitment to delivering top-tier basketball content to fans nationwide.

Comprehensive Coverage Across NBCUniversal Platforms

A key feature of the agreement is the substantial yearly coverage allocated to NBC and Peacock. This includes 100 national NBA regular-season games, an extensive lineup of playoff games, and the prestigious NBA All-Star Game.

Over the 11-year term, Conference Finals Series will be showcased six times. However, NBCUniversal will boast more NBA playoff games per season than any other NBA media partner.

A New Era in NBA and WNBA Broadcasting

Mark Lazarus, Chairman of NBCU Media Group, expressed enthusiasm for the renewed partnership with the NBA and WNBA.

Lazarus highlighted the unique presentation plan across NBCUniversal platforms, which will feature a robust lineup of regular-season and postseason games, the NBA All-Star Game, and All-Star Saturday events.

This strategic partnership is poised to enhance NBCUniversal’s content strategy across its portfolio.

Peacock Takes Center Stage

Peacock assumes a prominent role in the new agreement, with approximately 50 exclusive NBA national regular-season and postseason games slated for the platform. Peacock Monday Nights and late-season doubleheaders will anchor the coverage.

Additionally, NBC Sports will introduce Sunday Night Basketball, a new “Game of the Week” franchise, featuring a one-hour pregame show. Regional matchups on Tuesdays will also receive national coverage.

A Win for NBA Fans

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver welcomed the return of NBA basketball to the NBC Sports family, citing the enormous benefits and excitement this partnership will bring to fans.

Silver praised NBCUniversal’s multiple platforms, particularly NBC and Peacock, and its expansive resources, which will help build on the rich tradition and history of the NBA on NBC.
