Aaron Rodgers achieved another milestone in his impressive career on Sunday by becoming only the ninth player in NFL history to throw for 60,000 yards in regular-season games.
The 40-year-old quarterback for the New York Jets reached this milestone when he completed a 7-yard pass to Tyler Conklin in the third quarter during a game against the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Vikings ended up winning 23-17.
The four-time NFL MVP is now on a list that includes Tom Brady (89,214 yards), Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and Brett Favre—whom Rodgers backed up for three years in Green Bay.
Following Favre (71,838 yards), the list includes Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan, and Dan Marino.
Ryan was the eighth player to reach this milestone and did it in the second-fewest games (223). Brees was the fastest, hitting the mark in 215 games.
Rodgers entered Sunday’s game needing 96 passing yards to reach 60,000.
He finished with 244 yards, two touchdown passes, and three interceptions against the Vikings. Rodgers now has 60,148 yards in regular-season games.
Additionally, on Sunday, the 20-year veteran passed Marino to take seventh place on the NFL’s list for total passing yards in both regular-season and playoff games. He needed 74 yards to achieve this.
