The Jets started their off-season program and also revealed the uniforms they will wear this year.
Jets owner Woody Johnson announced during Super Bowl Sunday that the team would change their look for the upcoming year, and they shared the new designs on their website.
The team named the new uniforms their “Legacy Collection,” as they resemble what the team wore in the 1980s. They wore throwback jerseys and helmets during some games in the 2023 season.
“We listen to the fans,” Johnson said in a statement. “They have consistently requested a return to our roots, and we heard them. The new uniforms are designed to reflect the New York Jets while updating the club’s iconic logo – considered by fans as our most recognizable symbol.”
During the 1980s, the Jets had only green and white uniforms, but this season they will introduce a black uniform and a black alternate helmet.
