Mets All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor will undergo an MRI on his sore back after having to leave a game for the second time in three days.

Lindor exited Sunday’s 2-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies due to lower back pain in the second inning. He also left Friday’s game in the seventh inning and was not in the lineup on Saturday.

He had a single to center at the start of Sunday’s game and made a play on Trea Turner’s grounder in the bottom of the inning. Lindor felt the discomfort after his first hit of the game.

He will be assessed and undergo additional tests on Monday.

“It’s extremely difficult,” he said. “As someone who wants to post and be available, it’s tough to come out of a game and not be available.”

Lindor mentioned that his back has been bothering him for some time and got worse during this series.

He is hitting .271 with 31 home runs, 86 RBIs, and 27 stolen bases. After batting .193 with seven home runs and 22 RBIs until May 20, he has improved to .307 with 24 home runs and 64 RBIs over his last 101 games.
