Myles Garrett, the Cleveland Browns’ star defensive end, was pulled over early Saturday morning in Strongsville, Ohio, for driving 100 mph in a 60 mph zone. He was fined $250 and can avoid a court appearance by paying the fine.
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski expressed that Garrett’s actions were “extremely disappointing.” Stefanski said the issue has been discussed with Garrett and the team, emphasizing the need for him to prioritize safety for himself and others on the road.

Garrett’s Speeding Incident Follows Preseason Game, Reflecting Ongoing History Of Traffic Violations
The citation occurred just hours after the Browns’ preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte. Garrett, along with several other veteran players, did not participate in the game, meaning he was not on the field the previous night.
Garrett has a history of traffic violations. Three years ago, he received a citation for “failure to control his motor vehicle” after a single-car crash that injured his left shoulder and right biceps. At the time, the Ohio State Highway Patrol noted that he was driving above the speed limit on an unsafe roadway.
Local reports indicate Garrett has been cited for speeding multiple times, with at least seven recorded instances in northeast Ohio as of 2022. This recent incident highlights a continued pattern of risky driving behavior that raises safety concerns.
