Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton was involved in a car accident Tuesday afternoon in Charlotte, as confirmed by a team spokesman. Dalton, along with his wife, their three children, and their dog, were traveling west on Sardis Road near Providence Road, about seven miles from Bank of America Stadium, when the incident took place.

Fortunately, none of the passengers in the vehicle were taken to the hospital by emergency personnel. Despite this, Dalton is currently being evaluated by the team’s medical staff to ensure his well-being. No immediate concerns were reported by the team spokesperson.

As of now, no further details have been released regarding the specifics of the accident, and it remains unclear whether Dalton will be ready to play in Sunday’s upcoming game against the Denver Broncos. The team is expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.

Dalton, who is 36, has struggled since stepping in as the Panthers’ starting quarterback, posting a 1-4 record after replacing rookie Bryce Young. Following the team’s latest 40-7 defeat to the Washington Commanders, head coach Dave Canales reiterated that Dalton would remain the starter for the next game against the Broncos.
