Sanchez, 38, allegedly started a fight with a truck driver over a parking spot while under the influence of alcohol. During the altercation, Sanchez was stabbed in the upper right torso. The truck driver involved claimed self-defense and was not charged. Sanchez was excused from attending the pretrial conference as he continues to recover from the injuries sustained in the fight.

Prosecutors charged Sanchez with a felony count of battery causing serious bodily injury, along with three misdemeanor charges, including public intoxication. Sanchez did not enter a plea at the pretrial conference. His attorney, Tim DeLaney, informed the court that Sanchez is still focused on recovering from his injuries.
