Philadelphia Eagles guard Landon Dickerson will undergo a minor procedure on a meniscus injury in his right knee. After the procedure, his status will be evaluated week-to-week, with the team aiming for him to return for the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, September 4.
Dickerson Injured During Practice After Limited Summer Participation, Raising Week-to-Week Availability Concerns
Dickerson suffered the injury late in Sunday night’s open practice at Lincoln Financial Field. On a pass play where Jalen Hurts threw to Saquon Barkley, Dickerson went down, unable to put weight on his right leg. Teammates gathered around him as he remained on the ground for several minutes before being assisted off the field via cart.

Throughout the summer, Dickerson had limited participation due to a knee issue, with Brett Toth filling in at left guard. He appeared on Saturday’s injury report but was not listed on Sunday, suggesting the injury became significant during practice.
Dickerson’s Elite Performance and Green’s Injury Raise Eagles Offensive Line Depth Concerns
At 26, Dickerson is a cornerstone of the Eagles’ offensive line. He helped Saquon Barkley rush for 2,504 yards during the 2024 season, including playoffs. Dickerson has been a consistent Pro Bowl guard since 2022, joining elite company with players like Joel Bitonio, Chris Lindstrom, Quenton Nelson, and Joe Thuney.
Another key guard, Kenyon Green, is also sidelined with a shoulder injury and is likely to miss the remainder of the preseason. Acquired from the Texans, Green missed all of 2023 due to a shoulder problem and previously led all NFL guards in pressures allowed. His absence, coupled with Dickerson’s injury, raises concerns about the Eagles’ depth on the offensive line.
