Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry have formed one of the strongest pairs in the NFL, which is a major reason why the Baltimore Ravens are back where they want to be: leading the AFC North.
Jackson, a two-time MVP, is playing the best he has in his seven years, with a fourth-best league passer rating of 107.3. He has nine touchdown passes and just one interception.
Henry is leading the NFL with 572 rushing yards in five games. He also became the 12th player in history to achieve over 10,000 rushing yards and 100 total touchdowns, joining legends like Jim Brown, Marshall Faulk, Franco Harris, and Marcus Allen.
After starting the season with two losses, the Ravens have won three games in a row and are tied with Pittsburgh for first in their division.
“I like where we are,” coach John Harbaugh said on Monday. “We were in a good place. We are in a better place now because we continue to improve. We have a lot of improvement to do and a lot of opportunities to get better. So, I am excited about that opportunity.”
Harbaugh spoke after the Ravens’ thrilling 41-38 overtime win against Cincinnati. Baltimore was down by 10 points twice in the fourth quarter, but Jackson threw a touchdown pass each time to keep the team competitive.
Though Henry was mostly held back during the game, he made a big 51-yard run in overtime that set up Justin Tucker’s winning field goal.
The Bengals loaded the defense to stop the Ravens’ strong rushing game, and Jackson responded by making plays through the air. He completed 26 of 42 passes for 348 yards and four touchdowns.
