Chase Brown celebrates after scoring

The NFL has decided that a fan did not purposely spill a drink on Bengals running back Chase Brown after Cincinnati’s win in Carolina on Sunday.

Video showed a fan seemingly pouring a drink on Brown as he was leaving the field and going into the tunnel at Bank of America Stadium.

“The league’s review of the matter determined that portions of a drink were accidentally spilled on the Cincinnati player as Bengals fans tried to catch the gloves he tossed to them,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement Thursday.

“The league looked at video from different angles from stadium security cameras and also from social media.”

If the league had thought the fan intentionally spilled the drink, a lifetime ban from the stadium could have been a possible punishment.
