Martin Necas continued his strong play by scoring the game-winning goal with 29.3 seconds left, leading the Carolina Hurricanes to a 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night in Raleigh, N.C.
Necas, who scored his seventh goal of the season, helped the Hurricanes extend their winning streak to seven games, the best in the league. With an assist earlier in the game, he has accumulated 20 points in the past 10 games.
Jackson Blake, Eric Robinson, Jordan Martinook, and Jack Roslovic also found the back of the net for Carolina, with Seth Jarvis adding an empty-net goal to seal the victory. Brent Burns contributed two assists, and Pyotr Kochetkov made 12 saves to earn the win despite some shaky moments in net.
For Philadelphia, Travis Konecny had a strong performance, scoring twice and adding two assists. Owen Tippett and Morgan Frost also scored for the Flyers, who began a three-game road trip. Sean Couturier recorded two assists, and Tippett added one. Aleksei Kolosov made 29 saves in goal.

While the Flyers showed more offense than in their recent games, they still struggled with consistency. They had been held to just four goals in their last three games and only managed three shots on goal in both the second and third periods against Carolina.
Konecny opened the scoring with the only power-play goal of the night. Blake answered for the Hurricanes in the first period, and in the second, Robinson and Martinook scored within 56 seconds to give Carolina a 3-1 lead, with Martinook’s goal being his first of the season. Tippett pulled the Flyers back within one at the 13:30 mark of the second period.
The third period saw more back-and-forth action, with Frost tying the game for Philadelphia just 1:18 into the frame. However, Roslovic quickly restored the lead for Carolina, scoring just 29 seconds later. Konecny responded for the Flyers by capitalizing on a Carolina turnover to score his seventh goal, tying the game at 4-4 with 10:43 left in regulation.
Then, with less than 30 seconds remaining, Necas fired the decisive shot that gave Carolina the win and kept their winning streak alive.
