K’Andre Miller’s goal in the third period helped the New York Rangers beat the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 on Sunday night. This victory made Jonathan Quick the first American-born goalie to reach 400 regular-season wins.
The Rangers ended their three-game losing streak and improved to 8-3-3 in their last 14 games. They are 2-20-1 this season when behind after two periods. Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin each scored one goal and assisted on two others, while Alexis Lafreniere also scored for the Rangers.
Quick made 34 saves, and with this win, he joined Sergei Bobrovsky from Florida and Marc-Andre Fleury from Minnesota as the third active goalie to reach 400 career victories. He is the 15th player in NHL history to achieve this.
Jack Eichel scored both goals for Vegas, and Adin Hill made 24 saves. The Golden Knights lost their third game in a row and fell to 3-7-3 in their past 13 games.
Red Wings 3, Canucks 2 (OT)
Alex DeBrincat scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to help Detroit win its sixth straight game, defeating Vancouver.
Ben Chiarot also scored for Detroit, which moved into a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Goaltender Alex Lyon stopped 25 shots. DeBrincat now has 23 goals, tying Dylan Larkin for the team lead. The game-winning goal came with 42 seconds left in overtime, as DeBrincat led a fast break from one end of the ice to the other, passing to Lucas Raymond, who set up the goal in the Vancouver zone.
Filip Chytil and Pius Suter scored for Vancouver, which lost its second straight game. Kevin Lankinen made 15 saves.
Panthers 6, Islanders 3
Carter Verhaeghe scored a hat trick and added an assist, leading Florida to a 6-3 win over the New York Islanders, ending their seven-game winning streak.
Sam Reinhart and Matthew Tkachuk each had a goal and an assist for Florida, which has won three straight games. Aleksander Barkov had three assists, Gustav Forsling had two, and Spencer Knight made 31 saves.

Kyle MacLean, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, and Marc Gatcomb scored for the Islanders, who got 27 saves from Jakub Skarek in his NHL debut.
Stars 5, Blue Jackets 3
Evgenii Dadonov scored two third-period goals to lift Dallas over Columbus, helping the Stars win their fifth straight game.
Mason Marchment, Logan Stankoven, and Wyatt Johnston also scored for Dallas, which didn’t take the lead until Dadonov redirected a shot by defenseman Thomas Harley past Columbus goalie Elvis Merzlikins with 8:38 left in the game. Dadonov added a second goal with 4:13 left. Dallas is 15-4-1 since December 23. Casey DeSmith made 27 saves for Dallas.
Cole Sillinger, Adam Fantilli, and Ivan Provorov scored for Columbus, who had won three games in a row but couldn’t hold onto three different one-goal leads. Columbus lost leading scorer Kirill Marchenko after he was hit by a puck on the bench late in the second period and didn’t return. Merzlikins made 34 saves.
Avalanche 2, Flyers 0
Mackenzie Blackwood made 24 saves for his second consecutive shutout as Colorado beat Philadelphia 2-0, while the Flyers failed to score for the third straight game.
Blackwood earned his third shutout of the season, his second with Colorado, and the 13th of his career. This is the third time he has had shutouts in consecutive games.
Nathan MacKinnon and Samuel Girard scored for Colorado. Samuel Ersson made 30 saves for Philadelphia, which hasn’t scored in its last 180 minutes, 15 seconds.
Sabres 4, Devils 3
Tage Thompson, JJ Peterka, and Ryan McLeod scored three straight goals in the first period to help Buffalo hold off a third-period comeback by New Jersey.
Jason Zucker scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal late in the second period for Buffalo, who won their third straight game, matching their season-high streak. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 21 saves.
Paul Cotter scored twice, and Jack Hughes added a goal for New Jersey, who have lost 11 of their last 16 games (5-8-3) since December 28. Jake Allen made 23 saves before being pulled after the second period for Nico Daws, who stopped all seven shots he faced in the third period.
Ducks 3, Canadiens 2
Alex Killorn scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and added an assist as Anaheim scored three unanswered goals to come from behind and beat Montreal.

Mason McTavish and Frank Vatrano also scored for Anaheim, who won four of their last five games. Lukas Dostal made 21 saves as the Ducks improved to 21-0-2 when scoring three or more goals in a game.
Joel Armia and Christian Dvorak scored for Montreal, who lost their fifth straight game.
Blues 2, Utah Hockey Club 1
Jordan Binnington made 24 saves as St. Louis ended its four-game losing streak by defeating Utah in Salt Lake City.
Alexandre Texier and Jordan Kyrou scored for St. Louis, who had been outscored 16-4 during their losing streak. Michael Kesselring scored for Utah, and Connor Ingram made 27 saves for the Utah Hockey Club, which is winless in their last five games (0-3-2).
Blues defenseman Tyler Tucker left the game in the third period after falling hard into the boards.
Flames 3, Kraken 2
Morgan Frost scored his first goal with Calgary, helping the Flames hold on to beat Seattle 3-2.
Yegor Sharangovich had a goal and an assist, and Jonathan Huberdeau also scored for Calgary, who won for the second time in their last five games. Goaltender Dan Vladar made 29 saves for his first win since December 10.
Kaapo Kakko and Brandon Tanev scored for Seattle, who fell 10 points behind the Flames in the race for the Western Conference’s second and final wild-card spot. Joey Daccord stopped 32 of 35 shots.
