The Buffalo Sabres have secured goaltender Devon Levi with a two-year contract worth $1.625 million, carrying an annual average value of $812,500. Levi, 23, was a restricted free agent before finalizing the deal, which now solidifies his place in Buffalo’s roster plans for the near future.
Levi spent the majority of the previous season with the Rochester Americans, the Sabres’ AHL affiliate, where he posted standout numbers. He recorded a 25-13-4 record with a 2.20 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage, and led the league with seven shutouts, highlighting his potential as a future NHL mainstay.

Levi Still Struggling to Find Consistency at NHL Level Despite AHL Dominance
Despite his AHL success, Levi’s performance at the NHL level was more challenging. In nine games (eight starts) with the Sabres last season, he went 2-7-0 and registered a 4.12 GAA along with a .872 save percentage. His overall NHL record stands at 17-17-2 with a 3.29 GAA and a .894 save percentage across 39 games, all with Buffalo.
Levi was initially selected 212th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2020 NHL Draft and joined the Sabres via a trade involving forward Sam Reinhart in July 2021. With his new contract signed, Levi becomes the final restricted free agent to reach an agreement with Buffalo this offseason.
