Nneka Ogwumike scored 26 points, matching her season best, while Skylar Diggins-Smith tied her career high with 12 assists and added 10 points. The Seattle Storm defeated the Minnesota Lynx 91-63 on Friday night, ending a three-game losing streak against them.

Seattle initially trailed 9-2 but then scored 36 of the next 49 points to take a double-digit lead by the second quarter. Minnesota did not score in the second quarter until Diamond Miller made a shot with 4:58 remaining. At halftime, the Storm (15-8) led 50-37 after shooting 56% from the field, with 4 of 10 shots made from beyond the arc.

Kayla McBride led Minnesota (16-7) with 27 points, making six 3-pointers despite sitting out the fourth quarter.

Skylar Diggins-Smith looks to shoot the ball into the basket

Sami Whitcomb contributed with two 3-pointers in a 9-0 run during the fourth quarter, giving Seattle an 81-57 lead. Minnesota’s first points of the fourth came from Sika Kone’s free throw with 6:46 left.

Whitcomb and Jewell Loyd each added 14 points, while Ezi Magbegor scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Seattle. Diggins-Smith achieved her 12th career double-double.

Apart from McBride, no other Lynx player scored more than seven points. Minnesota played without Napheesa Collier (foot) for the third consecutive game.
