On Wednesday night, Shohei Ohtani, Tommy Edman, Will Smith, and Max Muncy all hit home runs for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first inning.
Ohtani started the game with his 47th homer, a 405-foot hit to center field off Chicago Cubs pitcher Jordan Wicks. The Japanese player also stole his 48th base in the second inning.
He is now just three home runs and two stolen bases away from becoming the first player in Major League Baseball to have a 50-50 season.
With two outs, Teoscar Hernández singled and then scored when Edman hit a homer into the left-field pavilion on the first pitch from Wicks.
Edman had hit two homers on two pitches against the Cubs the day before.
Smith then hit a 404-foot home run to nearly the same spot in left field. Muncy followed with a 401-foot homer to right field, coinciding with his bobblehead night.
The Dodgers turned a 2-0 deficit into a 5-2 lead.
This is the second time this season that the Dodgers have hit four home runs in a single inning. The first instance was on June 11 during the sixth inning against the Texas Rangers in Los Angeles.
