Paraguay dismissed coach Daniel Garnero on Monday following a Copa America where the team failed to win any matches.
During the ongoing tournament in the United States, Paraguay suffered defeats in all of its group-stage matches: 2-1 against Colombia, 4-1 against Brazil, and 2-1 against Costa Rica.
Garnero, a 54-year-old from Argentina, had been in charge for less than a year and oversaw just 10 matches.
Under his leadership, the team scored only five goals and conceded 13 since he took over in September, replacing Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
The Paraguayan Football Association did not announce a replacement for Garnero.
Up next for the team are challenges in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in September, with matches against Uruguay away and Brazil at home. Paraguay currently sits seventh in the standings among the 10 teams after six qualifying matches.
