Paul Heyman emphasized that Roman Reigns harbors no fear towards a former WWE Champion.
During his recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Heyman engaged in discussions covering various topics, including the forthcoming Men’s Royal Rumble Match at the event.
The WWE stalwart was specifically questioned about the potential participation of former WWE Champion Bob Backlund in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
In reply, Heyman expressed his hope that Backlund would not join the fray, as it could lead to implications for Seth Rollins, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, if Backlund emerged victorious.
Heyman further asserted that Roman Reigns did not feel apprehensive about facing Bob Backlund, suggesting that a match between the two lacked the allure of “box office” appeal.
Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman have been widely acclaimed for their outstanding collaboration as part of The Bloodline faction, with their work drawing praise from industry veterans like WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart. Speaking on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling Podcast, Hart lauded their partnership, stating:
“First of all, he (Roman Reigns) does a great job and Paul (Heyman) fits him so greatly, Paul fits him to a T. I think my character’s a little bit too over-the-top for that because I’m more like, ‘Whoa! Hey baby! How you doing!?’ That’s always been my thing. Up-tempo, never kind of laid back and I just kind of think Roman does such a great job along with Paul, and they fit good together.”
Despite their formidable partnership, Reigns faces a daunting challenge at the upcoming 2024 Royal Rumble, where he will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a Fatal Four-Way Match against three formidable opponents.
The outcome of the match remains uncertain, leaving fans eagerly waiting to see if The Tribal Chief can overcome the odds and retain his title.
