Paul Merson is shocked at the lack of interest from other teams in Sofyan Amrabat, whom Manchester United wants.
Amrabat and the Red Devils made a tight connection this summer. The Athletic claims that Manchester had an offer from United. He said it was a loan for €2 million, of which he is sure of €1 million.
Fiorentina turned down the proposal. On X, writer Jacque Talbot said that La Viola awaits a new offer as negotiations over the 27-year-old Moroccan international’s future continue.
Merson weighed in on Manchester United’s pursuit of Amrabat during this. Amrabat is a good player, he said on X, formerly known as Twitter. He has a huge fan in me. I’m surprised no one else has already spoken up for him.
For Manchester United, he will keep everything in check. Despite being physically fit, Amrabat has not played a single minute of Serie A football this season and is in the final year of his contract.
He was not included in the lineup for the Serie A team’s 2-2 Serie A tie with US Lecce on August 27.

Signings and Transfer Rumors
Mason Mount, who cost Manchester United £60 million, is more of an offensive midfielder. He was acquired from Chelsea this month. After Fred joined Fenerbahce, Amrabat would solidify the Red Devils’ options in defensive midfield.
Meanwhile, Scott McTominay is the preferred candidate of Thomas Tuchel to bolster his defensive midfield position.
According to reports, Manchester United connected with a surprise bid for Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Hojberg. Tottenham star is linked with a move to the Red Devils.
Since joining Spurs three years ago for €16.6 million from Southampton, the Danish international has been a consistent team member. He has played 148 times for Tottenham, a testament to his talent and stamina.
Fabrizio Romano, though, asserts that the player is disposable if the deal is put forward. In his CaughtOffside piece, the journalist said:
“About United, I want to be clear that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is possible for the club, but Tottenham demands a high transfer cost. Tottenham’s message is crystal clear: “Important proposal or nothing.”
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has two more years left on Hojbjerg’s deal. Even if Manchester United signs Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina, it is unknown if they will pursue him.
