Payton Pritchard had his best game yet, scoring 38 points, while the Boston Celtics, leading in the NBA, decided to rest all their starting players in a 132-122 win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday, the last game of the regular season for both teams.
Svi Mykhailiuk contributed 26 points, and Sam Hauser added 16 for Boston, the Celtics chose to sit out key players like Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, and top reserve Al Horford.
Pritchard also showcased his playmaking skills, providing 12 assists and grabbing nine rebounds. Last season, he made history in the final game by achieving a triple-double with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists, a feat only matched by Celtics legends Larry Bird and John Havlicek.
This victory marked the Celtics’ 15th season with 60 or more wins, the most recent being in 2008 when they clinched the NBA championship.
