Payton Pritchard came off the bench to score a game-high 27 points and provide 10 assists, helping the Boston Celtics beat the Detroit Pistons 123-99 on Thursday night.
Pritchard made 10 of 20 shots, including 7 of 15 from three-point range.
Derrick White added 23 points, and Kristaps Porzingis scored 19 points as the Celtics won their 12th straight game against the Pistons.
Rookie Ronald Holland II scored a career-high 26 points for the Pistons, who struggled with their shooting, making only 7 of 37 (18.9 percent) from beyond the arc. Detroit’s Cade Cunningham finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. Jaden Ivey scored 10 points but struggled, shooting 3-of-14 from the field.
The Celtics were missing Jayson Tatum (knee) and Sam Hauser (adductor), two of their top shooters. Tatum leads the team in points (28.2), rebounds (8.9), and assists (5.7). Hauser, a key reserve, is averaging 8.5 points in 22.2 minutes per game.
The Pistons were without Jalen Duren (wrist), who leads the team with 8.9 rebounds per game.
Boston finished the first quarter with a 14-2 run, leading 27-16. Detroit missed all 12 of their three-point attempts in the first quarter.
The Celtics extended their lead to 47-33 with a 10-0 run, capped by a Jrue Holiday three-pointer, and were up 59-44 at halftime.
Boston kept pushing in the third quarter, outscoring Detroit 34-24 to build a 93-68 lead heading into the final period. The Pistons fell behind by as much as 32 points in the fourth quarter.
Boston has won all three meetings with Detroit this season. They won 124-118 in Detroit on Oct. 26 and 130-120 in Boston on Dec. 4.
