Pierce Brown Moved from 14th to 17th in Updated Philadelphia SX Results

The Philadelphia Supercross event was marked by a series of compelling storylines, notably revolving around Pierce Brown’s remarkable performance in the 250SX main event. Despite being in third place behind Max Anstie and Tom Vialle, Brown encountered a dramatic crash late in the race.

His bike veered off course, causing him to eject off his MC 250F mid-air. Miraculously, Brown remounted and navigated through the whoops section, last turn, and finish line jump to ultimately cross the checkered flag, showcasing tremendous resilience.

However, post-race, an update to the 250SX main event results emerged. Due to Brown inadvertently skipping an entire lap following his crash, the AMA adjusted the results on Monday night.

Consequently, Brown was placed 17th instead of 14th, having completed only 17 laps, as opposed to the required 18 laps. This adjustment resulted in Brown being tied with Coty Schock for third place in the championship standings, adding another layer of intrigue to the competition.

The revised results and points standings reflected this alteration, with Max Anstie securing the victory, followed closely by Tom Vialle and Haiden Deegan. Notably, Brown’s near-podium finish would have marked a significant milestone in his season, characterized by consistently strong performances leading up to the Philadelphia event.

In response to the scoring discrepancy, the AMA issued a brief press release addressing the matter, citing a routine audit that identified the scoring error. The results were promptly corrected to rectify the anomaly, underscoring the commitment to accuracy and integrity within the sport.

Despite the disappointment of narrowly missing a podium finish, the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GasGas team remained upbeat, as seen in their social media update. Brown’s unwavering resolve in the midst of challenges mirrors the determined spirit that defines Supercross.

This resilience not only showcases his personal grit but also fuels anticipation for the ongoing championship battles, promising continued excitement for fans and competitors alike.
