Steven Stamkos scored two goals, and Zachary L’Heureux netted his first career goal as the Nashville Predators defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-3 on Sunday night.

Roman Josi had a goal and an assist, Gustav Nyquist scored once, and Filip Forsberg recorded two assists for the Predators, who ended a three-game losing streak. Goaltender Juuse Saros made 24 saves.

For the Canucks, Aatu Raty, Elias Pettersson, and Kiefer Sherwood scored, but they’ve only won three of their 10 home games this season. Danton Heinen had two assists, and goalie Kevin Lankinen, who played for Nashville the past two seasons, made 16 saves.

With the Predators trailing 2-1, Stamkos tied the game at 12:17 of the second period, scoring a power-play goal with a wrist shot from the left circle.

Josi gave Nashville the lead at 14:21 with a one-timer from the right faceoff dot, scoring his second goal of the season.

Stamkos then made it 4-2 with 21.5 seconds left in the second period, adding his second power-play goal of the night with a perfect shot from the left circle for his sixth goal of the season.

Sherwood, who played parts of two seasons with Nashville, brought Vancouver back within one goal, scoring his fourth of the year with six minutes left in the game.

However, Nyquist sealed the win for Nashville with an empty-net goal with 21 seconds remaining, in a game where both teams had previously given up a lead.

L’Heureux, a first-round draft pick by the Predators in 2021, opened the scoring at 5:28 of the first period, jumping on a loose puck during a scramble.

Raty, who scored his first goal as a Canuck, tied the game at 5:57 with a deflection of Erik Brannstrom’s long shot from the blue line. Pettersson then gave the Canucks a 2-1 lead at 9:51 of the second period with a powerful one-timer from just inside the right circle for his sixth goal of the season.
