Chelsea defender Malo Gusto has offered his perspective on his team’s upcoming EFL Cup showdown against Premier League leaders Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday (February 25).
The Blues, currently positioned 10th with 35 points from 25 Premier League matches, navigated past teams like Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United en route to the final. They secured a 6-2 aggregate victory over EFL Championship side Middlesbrough in the semi-finals last month.
Meanwhile, Liverpool overcame challenges from Leicester City and Bournemouth before defeating West Ham United 5-1 in the EFL Cup quarter-final.
They then edged past Fulham with a 3-2 aggregate scoreline in the last four stages.
With the EFL Cup final drawing near, Gusto took to his Instagram story on Saturday to share his anticipation, captioning an image with the words: “War is coming š„·.”
In the current season, Mauricio Pochettino’s team has faced Liverpool twice in the Premier League, resulting in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge last August and a 4-1 loss at Anfield on January 31st.
