Pundit Alan Brazil has criticized Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes for what he described as “shocking” behavior during matches.
Brazil’s comments follow Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham last Saturday (February 24), during which Fernandes was seen going down after a tackle before quickly getting back up and continuing to play. Fulham later posted a video mocking Fernandes on their official TikTok account, prompting manager Erik ten Hag to demand an apology.
Taking Fulham’s side in the matter, Brazil expressed his disappointment with Fernandes, stating, “He cheats basically, he cheats too much.
He should be setting an example, not doing that.” While acknowledging Fernandes’ talent as a player, Brazil criticized his tendency to exaggerate contact and called on him to refrain from trying to deceive the referee.
Fernandes has struggled to find his scoring form this season, with just three goals in 25 Premier League appearances. However, his performance will be crucial for Manchester United in their upcoming match against Manchester City on Sunday (March 3) at the Etihad Stadium.
