A Baltimore Ravens fan, John Callis, 24, surrendered to Baltimore Police on Monday after being sought in connection with an alleged assault on two Washington Commanders fans. The incident, which took place earlier in October, gained widespread attention after a video of the assault went viral on social media. Callis is facing serious charges, including first-degree aggravated assault and three counts of second-degree assault. A warrant for his arrest had been issued the previous week.

In the viral video, Callis is seen approaching two Commanders fans on South Charles Street in Baltimore, wearing a purple Lamar Jackson jersey. The video captures him kicking and punching one of the fans, knocking him unconscious with a punch. He then attacked the second fan, shoving him against a wall and throwing him to the ground. After the assault, Callis can be seen flexing and boasting to the camera, saying, “I don’t f–king lose.”

Charging documents, viewed by WBAL-TV, revealed additional details about the events leading up to the viral altercation. Earlier that evening, around 9:42 p.m., Callis had an initial encounter with the victims outside Cross Street Market, where he allegedly began aggressively grabbing and hitting one of the fans. The viral video captured the second confrontation, which occurred just minutes after the first when the two victims returned to the area looking for a lost cell phone and encountered Callis again.

During the second confrontation, Callis allegedly struck one of the victims with such force that the individual collapsed unconscious, hitting his head on a nearby parked vehicle. Witnesses and the video footage were instrumental in identifying Callis as the perpetrator. The victims’ repeated run-ins with Callis escalated the situation, leading to the assault captured on camera.

Callis is being defended by attorney Brian Thompson from the law firm Silverman Thompson. If convicted, he could face up to 25 years in prison for the first-degree assault charge, a felony in Maryland. The case has drawn significant public attention due to the violent nature of the incident and its rapid circulation on social media.
