Real Madrid is reportedly weighing the option of sending young attacking midfielder Arda Guler on loan in the summer, with AC Milan expressing interest in acquiring him, as per SPORT.
Guler joined Real Madrid last summer from Fenerbahce for a reported fee of €20 million but has faced challenges with injuries and fitness since his arrival.
Having made only four appearances this season, totaling just 89 minutes on the field, Guler has struggled to secure regular playing time at the Santiago Bernabéu. A loan move appears to be a prudent step in his career, with several clubs reportedly keen on acquiring his services.
AC Milan is particularly interested in securing Guler’s services on loan. The Italian club has a history of successful loan deals with Real Madrid, with current Los Blancos star Brahim Diaz having enjoyed two fruitful seasons at Milan.
Real Madrid is expected to assess the outcome of Guler’s potential loan spell before deciding his future with the club.
If the loan proves successful, Guler could be reintegrated into Real Madrid’s first team upon his return, following a similar path to Federico Valverde after his loan stint at Deportivo La Coruna.
However, if Guler is deemed surplus to requirements, Real Madrid may opt to sell him in the summer transfer window, following a similar trajectory to Martin Odegaard’s loan and subsequent move to Arsenal.
