Real Madrid is reportedly prepared to sell Rodrygo to pave the way for the anticipated arrivals of Kylian Mbappé from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and rising talent Endrick this summer.
Earlier this month, the French newspaper Le Parisien disclosed Mbappé’s decision to join Los Banos upon the expiry of his PSG contract in June. However, the 25-year-old has yet to formally notify PSG of his intention to make a free transfer to the La Liga club.
In addition, Real Madrid finalized a potential €72 million deal to secure Endrick from Brazilian club Palmeiras in December 2022. The 17-year-old striker is expected to join ahead of the 2024-25 season.
According to Spanish news outlet Todofichajes, Carlo Ancelotti’s side has opted to sell Rodrygo during the upcoming transfer window. They recognize that the 23-year-old forward would likely be relegated to a bench role following the potential arrivals of Mbappé and Endrick.
Real Madrid, currently leading the 2023-24 La Liga standings by two points, may entertain offers of around €100 million for Rodrygo. Multiple Premier League clubs and PSG are reportedly expected to submit bids for the Brazilian attacker’s services.
Since his €45 million move from Santos in 2019, Rodrygo has contributed to Real Madrid’s success with nine trophies, including two La Liga titles. He has recorded 49 goals and 39 assists in 198 appearances for the club.
