Brock Lesnar’s WWE future has come under scrutiny recently after his rumored involvement in a lawsuit against Vince McMahon surfaced. Initially slated for a surprise comeback in the Royal Rumble Match, plans have since shifted.
Now, it appears that Lesnar has been entirely sidelined from WWE’s creative blueprints, signaling his absence from WrestleMania 40, where an anticipated showdown was on the cards.
According to details in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer, Brock Lesnar was primed to vie for the Intercontinental Championship against Gunther at The Show of Shows, following a clash with Dominik Mysterio at Elimination Chamber. However, those plans have been shelved:
“Lesnar was slated to challenge Gunther at WrestleMania, and confront Dominik Mysterio, who was poised to eliminate him (from the Royal Rumble), in a featured bout at Elimination Chamber,” Meltzer disclosed.
Earlier reports indicated that Bron Breakker took Lesnar’s spot in the Royal Rumble Match and was involved in all the planned sequences. Whether Breakker will substitute for Lesnar in both his proposed matches versus Dominik Mysterio and Gunther remains uncertain.
