Inter Miami’s valuation has soared beyond $1 billion following Lionel Messi’s arrival from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, according to reports from Mirror.
This milestone places the Herons among the elite in MLS, making them the fourth club to achieve such a valuation, joining the ranks of Atlanta United, Los Angeles Galaxy, and Los Angeles FC. Among these, LAFC holds the highest valuation at $1.15 billion, with Atlanta following closely behind at $1.05 billion.
With Messi’s presence, Inter Miami’s value has skyrocketed to $1.02 billion, marking a remarkable 74% increase over the past year. Since joining the club, the Argentine icon has played a pivotal role in their success.
Under Messi’s leadership, Inter Miami clinched their first-ever piece of silverware by securing the Leagues Cup, with Messi contributing 10 goals in seven appearances. Additionally, he played a crucial role in guiding the team to the US Open Cup final, where they narrowly lost 2-1 to Houston Dynamo.
Despite their cup triumphs, Inter Miami struggled in the MLS, finishing 14th in the Eastern Conference among 15 teams. They fell short of securing a playoff spot, trailing behind Charlotte FC by five spots and nine points.
Looking ahead, Inter Miami aims to bolster its MLS campaign with the recent additions of Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets in December. With enhanced experience and talent, the club aspires to achieve greater success in the upcoming season.
