New Signings for New England Revolution Ahead of 2025 Season
The New England Revolution have made 11 new signings for the 2025 season, with two more expected before the start of the season. The team will look different this year with several new faces joining, including Mamadou Fofana, Brayan Ceballos, Jackson Yueill, Leonardo Campana, Alex Bono, Tanner Beason, Luis Diaz, Donovan Parisian, Allan Oyirwoth, Ignatius Ganago, and Wyatt Omsberg.
Team’s Goal to Refresh the Roster
Head coach Caleb Porter explained that these moves were made to refresh the team’s roster and bring in new players who fit his playing style. He emphasized the excitement of bringing in new energy and players eager to make an impact. “Every game model is a little different, so we chose to bring in a lot of new players. So, that’s exciting. I love having new energy, I love having new blood,” said Porter.
Leonardo Campana Joins Revolution
A key signing is forward Leonardo Campana, who joined the Revolution after scoring 28 goals and adding eight assists in 80 league matches for Inter Miami CF. Porter is thrilled about Campana’s potential and believes he is the true number nine the team needs. “Leo, we’re very excited about.
He’s a true number nine,” said Porter. Campana expressed his excitement about playing for a coach who believes in his ability to contribute not just in the box but also by dropping deeper into play.
New Center Backs: Fofana and Ceballos
Fofana and Ceballos are expected to be the starting center backs for the Revolution. Fofana brings experience from France and international duty with Mali, while Ceballos, who played for clubs in Brazil and Ukraine, has represented Colombia’s U-23 National Team. Porter is confident that these players will help strengthen the defense, especially in winning duels and playing through the lines.
Two Key Players to Watch
Porter highlighted Jackson Yueill and Ignatius Ganago as players to watch. Yueill, with eight seasons in MLS, is seen as a key player in midfield to control the tempo and link the defense with the attack. Porter believes Yueill’s underrated skills will be vital for the team’s success.
Ganago, who is on loan from FC Nantes, brings physicality, speed, and technical ability. Porter sees Ganago as a potential game-changer who can play both wide and as a central striker.
Flexibility with Roster Construction
The Revolution have been very active this off-season, but Porter hinted at two more potential signings, including an experienced striker and possibly a U-22 player. The team has the flexibility to adjust its roster construction based on how things unfold during the season.
Porter mentioned that the Revolution may start with the “two and four model” (two Designated Players and four U-22 players) but could shift if needed, especially if Ganago performs well and earns a Designated Player spot.
Porter emphasized that the Revolution’s focus is on building the best team possible and using all available mechanisms to strengthen the squad throughout the season. “We want to continue to use every mechanism we have to maximize our roster and our ability to get more and more talented,” he said.
