Tight end Robert Tonyan is set to complete a full tour of the NFC North this year. The Vikings have confirmed that they’ve added Tonyan to their roster of 90 players. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
With this move finalized, Tonyan will have had stints with all four teams in the division. He initially joined the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2017, then transitioned to the Packers after being released by Detroit.
After spending several seasons with the Packers, he played for the Bears last season.
During his time with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, Tonyan had a couple of seasons with around 50 catches and one season with 11 touchdowns.
However, his numbers dropped to just 11 catches for 112 yards when he played for the Bears last year. With T.J. Hockenson recovering from injury, Tonyan might see early-season action as a tight end option in Minnesota.
