Scottie Scheffler claimed victory at the RBC Heritage on Monday morning, a result that seemed inevitable from the beginning of the week.

Maintaining a five-shot lead with three holes remaining in the rain-delayed tournament, Scheffler closed with a 3-under 68, securing a three-shot win over Sahith Theegala at Harbour Town.

This win marks Scheffler’s fourth victory in his last five starts, a feat not seen since Bernhard Langer achieved it in 1985 after winning the Masters.

Adding the RBC Heritage plaid jacket to his collection, Scheffler’s dominance mirrors that of Tiger Woods during his peak years on the PGA Tour.

While Theegala managed a birdie on the 16th hole and saved par on the 17th from the bunker, closing with a par to secure second place, he acknowledged Scheffler’s significant lead throughout the tournament.

Patrick Cantlay’s two-putt par from long range on the final hole secured him a tie for third place with U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark, among those fortunate to finish on Sunday before the final round was delayed for 2 1/2 hours due to storms.

Scheffler’s victory earned him $3.6 million from the $20 million purse, bringing his season earnings to over $18 million before May even begins.

Ending a streak of 68 consecutive holes at par or better, Scheffler’s bogey on the final hole showcased his remarkable consistency.

Looking ahead, Scheffler anticipates the arrival of his first child with his wife next week, followed by participation in three majors, starting with the PGA Championship.
