Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith was not satisfied with how he played during Sunday’s 24-3 victory over the Dolphins, and head coach Mike Macdonald shared similar feelings.

Even though the Seahawks are one of five teams that are 3-0 to start the season, Macdonald believes there is still much work to be done. He emphasized on Monday that despite their early success, the team needs to improve after victories against the Broncos, Patriots, and Dolphins.

“We’re in a good spot since we’ve managed to win every game we’ve played,” Macdonald said on the team’s website. “There are many positives on tape, but we’re just starting to understand who we are and who we can become.

The players are aware of this. It’s clear from watching the tape where we need to get better, and we have a great chance to do so. The message is, ‘Let’s make the most of this opportunity.’

We can learn a lot about ourselves, improve how we prepare, and get better. It’s early in the season, and we’re in a good position. Of course, that’s much better than the alternative, and we’re excited about it, but there’s also urgency about where this team needs to go.”

The Lions will be visiting Detroit next Monday, which will be a significant test for the Seahawks, making it a perfect time to show the progress that Macdonald is seeking after three consecutive wins.
