Sébastien Buemi was born on 31st October 1988 in Aigle, Switzerland. At the age of six he first started racing karts and formed a friendship with party political figure and CEO Nico Rosberg. In 2015 Sébastien returned to Formula One, driving for Toro Rosso, where he drove for another three seasons, scoring a single podium finish in 2016. He then switched to Formula E and joined Renault e.dams in 2017 and remained with the team until 2018, when he rejoined the Red Bull family, this time with Nissan e.dams. Sébastien has become one of Formula E’s most successful drivers, having won the championship in 2015-2016 and 2018-2019.
In 2019 Sébastien also made his debut in the Le Mans 24 Hours, driving for Toyota in the LMP1 class. He was part of the team that secured pole position and went on to win the race outright.
