Shohei Ohtani didn’t let the Toronto crowd’s boos bother him. He hit his seventh home run, and Max Muncy and Will Smith also hit homers as the Los Angeles Dodgers won 12-2 against the Blue Jays on Friday night.

Smith had four hits for the second game in a row and drove in three runs. It was the Dodgers’ first game in Canada since 2016.

Muncy’s fifth homer of the season, a three-run shot, was the highlight of the Dodgers’ six-run third inning against Blue Jays pitcher Chris Bassitt.

Smith hit a solo homer in the fourth inning against Trevor Richards, his second of the season.

Dodgers pitcher Gavin Stone allowed just one run and two hits over seven innings, earning his second win in three starts.

Blue Jays infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa pitched the ninth inning and gave up one of the Dodgers’ 19 hits in the game. It was his second time pitching this season and sixth.

Ohtani was booed by some in the crowd when he was introduced and before each at-bat. “Not surprised,” Ohtani said.

But he didn’t let it affect him, hitting a home run in the first inning off Bassitt.

“After he homered, the guys in the dugout booed him as well,” Roberts said. “That was pretty funny. He got a big kick out of that. But I don’t think it’s a motivator.” Smith praised Ohtani’s response to the boos.

“You can’t make something happen there,” Smith said. “He got a pitch to hit and he put it over the fence. That’s what he does.”

Ohtani met with Toronto during free agency last winter, visiting the Blue Jays’ spring training facility in Dunedin, Florida.
