Shohei Ohtani hit a strong ball to right field and dashed past second base, thinking he could get a triple and excite the Los Angeles Dodgers fans in his first time at bat at home.

But Ohtani didn’t realize that Mookie Betts had stopped at third base, and it was too late for him to stop and avoid getting caught on the bases.

Manager Dave Roberts joked, saying that Ohtani is fast but needs to remember there’s another player ahead of him on the bases.

When Betts, Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman are at the top of the Dodgers’ lineup, it’s a powerful trio that opponents have to deal with.

This trio, made up of former MVPs, showed the potential of the loaded Dodgers team in their game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Ohtani reached base three times, while Betts and Freeman hit home runs in the third inning. The Dodgers won the game 7-1, setting high expectations for the season.

Tyler Glasnow pitched well for six innings, allowing only two hits for the Dodgers. The sellout crowd of 52,667 fans at Dodger Stadium witnessed the team’s talent in action, with the trio of sluggers contributing five hits, six runs, and four RBIs combined.
