Following the conclusion of All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis, attention now shifts to the Golden State Warriors, as they eagerly anticipate hosting the prestigious event in their home city next season.
Set to take place in the Bay Area in 2025, this marks the first time since 2000 that All-Star Weekend will grace the region, a fact not lost on Warriors’ standout, Steph Curry. Having called the Bay Area home for 15 years, Curry is brimming with excitement at the prospect of showcasing the city’s vibrancy to a global audience.

Reflecting on his experience in his hometown of Charlotte during the 2019 All-Star festivities, Curry anticipates an even more exhilarating atmosphere in the Bay. “I’m extremely excited,” he remarked following Sunday’s All-Star Game, “Hosted in the Bay for the first time since 2000.”
In 2000, when the Warriors last hosted All-Star Weekend, the events unfolded across the Bay in Oakland. However, this time, the spotlight shifts to San Francisco and the state-of-the-art Chase Center. Despite the change in venue, Curry remains hopeful that the NBA will pay tribute to the Warriors’ roots in Oakland.
“The whole Bay has a lot to offer, from San Francisco, Chase Center, possibly some spotlights on Oakland, our history there in that city as well,” Curry expressed. “I’m excited and thankful it’ll be a short drive.”
Curry’s enthusiasm is palpable, especially given his recent performance in his 10th All-Star Game, where he contributed 16 points, eight assists, and five rebounds. With the prospect of playing in front of his hometown crowd next season, Curry aims to deliver a memorable performance worthy of the Bay Area’s adoration.
