It turns out that Taylor and Travis enjoy watching baseball, too.
Pop star Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, attended Game 1 of the American League Championship Series at Yankee Stadium on Monday night. The game featured the Cleveland Guardians against the New York Yankees.
The well-known couple sat in a suite along the right-field line, just above the postseason decorations and a flag celebrating the Yankees’ 1932 World Series win.
Kelce, who is from Westlake, Ohio, and went to high school in Cleveland Heights, wore a dark baseball cap with “Midnight Rodeo” on it. Swift also had on a hat for the chilly 50-degree night in the Bronx.
Kelce, who turned 35 on October 5, was a fan of Kenny Lofton and the Cleveland team in the 1990s. He even threw a wild first pitch during the Guardians’ season opener last year.
This was the second big sports event Swift and Kelce attended in New York City in just over five weeks. They also watched the men’s final at the U.S. Open tennis tournament on September 8 in Queens.
Kelce and the Chiefs, who are the two-time defending Super Bowl champions, had a break this weekend after starting the season 5-0. Their next game is on Sunday against San Francisco, which is a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl.
