After Tennessee’s first joint practice with the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday, Will Levis became a fragrance promoter. He handed out samples of a new scent created through his endorsement deal with a mayonnaise company.
The fragrance, “Will Levis No. 8,” is a mayonnaise-scented perfume that quickly sold out on Tuesday at $8 per bottle, with a new batch released Wednesday morning.
The scent includes citrus and coffee notes, inspired by Levis’s college habit of putting mayonnaise in his coffee at Kentucky. The commercial for the perfume created a buzz and sold out rapidly.
“We didn’t expect such a quick reaction, but it sold out within an hour,” Levis said. “And it’s just $8 a bottle. It’s for a good cause and a fun partnership, and it’s been amazing to see how it’s turned out.”
Levis is making sure his teammates receive a bottle of the perfume.
“They’re surprised that it actually smells good,” Levis said.
As he enters his second NFL season, Levis is excited about this unusual endorsement. He thanked the Titans for allowing the commercial to be filmed at their facilities, using both the practice and indoor fields.
Levis was involved in creating the fragrance, providing feedback on different samples. He likens the scent to that of a hotel lobby and has been so busy that he hasn’t checked his social media or texts.
He’s aware of the humorous side of the commercial, which features him drinking from a jar of mayonnaise and eating mayo off his finger while lying on the field.
“As silly and goofy as it was, I knew the more serious I took it, the funnier it would be,” Levis said.
