Elena Rybakina beat Iga Świątek 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in the Porsche Grand Prix semifinals, stopping Swiatek’s quest for a third straight title.
Rybakina, ranked fourth globally, served 10 aces and defended 11 out of 13 break points in the nearly three-hour match.
This win marks Rybakina’s fourth victory in six encounters with Świątek.
Świątek aimed to become Stuttgart’s first three-time champion since Maria Sharapova’s reign from 2012-2014.
Rybakina advances to the final against Marta Kostyuk, who defeated Markéta Vondroušová 7-6 (2), 6-2 in the other semifinal.
This marks Rybakina’s fifth final appearance this season, having won titles in Adelaide and Abu Dhabi.
