Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has emphasized his desire to secure victory in the League Cup final against Chelsea, not merely to enhance his trophy collection, but for the collective spirit of the team and the club.
As the Merseyside giants gear up to face Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday, February 25, Klopp aims to secure the trophy for Liverpool for an unprecedented tenth time.
In the lead-up to the match, Klopp stressed that Liverpool remains focused on achieving success on the pitch, irrespective of the impending changes. He affirmed the team’s commitment to competing for every accolade, even after he departed from the club at the end of the season.
Klopp expressed, as cited by DaveOCKOP:
“I want to win on Sunday, but not for me or my trophy cabinet. It is for the boys, for the club, for the people. That is much more important, and everything will go on. What we are doing at the moment is writing a wonderful book, I would say.”
“We wrote, and we are still writing a wonderful book and when I leave, we close that book, put it on the shelf, and then someone else will write a wonderful book. That is the idea. I will not leave anything inside. I will give absolutely everything until the last second.”
Additionally, Klopp stated: “Yes, there is space for some chapters. It is long. I am not there and writing the resume already. Not at all. I am 100 percent in trying to create a few special memories on top of what we have done.”
Under Jürgen Klopp’s leadership, Liverpool has enjoyed remarkable success, clinching nearly every trophy, including the League Cup in 2021-22 with a victory over Chelsea in the final.
As Klopp navigates his final season at the helm, Liverpool remains competitive across all competitions, aiming to etch more memorable moments into the club’s illustrious history.
