The Arizona Cardinals have been playing much better recently, winning three games in a row for the first time since 2021, and are now in first place in the NFC West.
The New York Jets may also be building some momentum after last week’s strong win.
Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers said that beating the Texans 21-13 last week was a much-needed boost after a tough five-game losing streak, but he emphasized that his team can’t relax now.
“We have to find a way to bring it every day,” Rodgers said. “The key for young players to learn is that consistency starts the moment you walk into the building. Everything you do needs to be intentional, from the conversations you have, to the time you get to work, to the way you take notes.”
The Jets (3-6) will travel to play the Cardinals (5-4) on Sunday.
Arizona is coming off what could be its best win of the season, dominating in all areas during a 29-9 victory. The Cardinals now hold a half-game lead over both the 49ers and Seahawks in the division standings.
Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray said he has always admired Rodgers’ skills and echoed the same mindset, stressing that his team can’t afford to relax.
Murray helped the Cardinals to a 10-2 record in 2021, but the team fell apart down the stretch, barely making the playoffs before losing badly to the Rams in the wild-card round.
“It’s easy to get caught up in the standings and what might happen in the future, but we’ve been doing this long enough to know not to let that stuff affect what we’re focused on,” Murray said.
