Travis d’Arnaud hit a home run early and followed it with an RBI single in the 10th inning, leading the Atlanta Braves to a 4-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.

Ramón Laureano also homered, and Austin Riley had two singles to help Atlanta secure their second straight win over San Francisco in extra innings. The Braves had previously defeated the Giants 1-0 in 10 innings on Monday, thanks to d’Arnaud’s sacrifice fly in the series opener.

Pinch-runner Luke Williams started the 10th inning as the automatic runner at second base. With one out, d’Arnaud hit a ground ball towards the right side of the infield. The ball deflected off the glove of diving second baseman Brett Wisely and rolled into right field.

In the bottom of the 10th, the Giants tried to advance their automatic runner to third with a bunt, but Wisely was called for batter’s interference. LaMonte Wade Jr. and Heliot Ramos then flied out, ending the game.

Dylan Lee (4-2) retired three batters to get the win, and Raisel Iglesias pitched the 10th inning to earn his 25th save.

The Braves (63-56) extended their lead to two games over the New York Mets for the final National League wild card spot. The Giants (61-61) are 3 1/2 games behind.

Tyler Fitzgerald hit a home run for San Francisco, which has lost its third straight game after winning eight of their previous 10.

Trailing 3-2 going into the eighth inning, the Giants made a comeback. Wade doubled off Pierce Johnson to start the inning, and Ramos hit a slow grounder towards third.

Riley initially bobbled the ball, then lost control of it while attempting a throw. Wade later scored the tying run on a wild pitch.

Laureano’s solo home run came in the second inning. San Francisco’s starting pitcher Kyle Harrison also allowed a solo home run to d’Arnaud in the third inning, his 13th of the season.
