The Boston Celtics have re-signed Luke Kornet and Xavier Tillman Sr. on Tuesday, bringing back two reserve players who contributed to their NBA championship victory.

Kornet, in his third season with Boston, appeared in 63 games this year, averaging 5.3 points, a career-high 4.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and one block in 15.6 minutes per game during the regular season. He also played in 13 playoff games.

“Luke has been a key part of our team in recent years,” said Brad Stevens, President of Basketball Operations. “He embodies the spirit of a great teammate, and his positive attitude has a significant impact on our group. On the court, Luke had his best season with the Celtics and played a crucial role in our championship run. We look forward to his continued contributions.”

Tillman joined the Celtics on February 7 in a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies. He played a total of 54 games this season, averaging 5.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 18 minutes per game.

“When Xavier arrived at the trade deadline, he brought with him a reputation as a winner and a fantastic teammate,” Stevens remarked. “Xavier is known for his hard work, toughness, and team-first mentality, qualities that we value greatly. We’re thrilled that Xavier has decided to return to the Celtics.”

Following their historic 18th NBA title win, the Celtics have also signed Jayson Tatum to the largest contract in NBA history—a five-year, $314 million supermax extension—and secured guard Derrick White with a four-year extension worth approximately $125 million.
