Quarterback Russell Wilson’s departure from the Broncos will result in significant dead money on their salary cap. However, the team is implementing other strategies to free up spending room for the 2024 season.
According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Broncos have restructured the contracts of defensive lineman Zach Allen and left guard Ben Powers. These adjustments yield over $20 million in cap space for Denver.
Allen, who joined the Broncos last season, showcased his impact by starting all 17 games and tallying 60 tackles, five sacks, and a forced fumble.
Similarly, Powers contributed significantly in his debut season with Denver, starting in every game. He remains under contract through 2026, while Allen’s contract extends through the 2025 season.
