The Buffalo Bills placed Baylon Spector on injured reserve on Saturday after the backup linebacker suffered a calf injury during practice this week.
Spector was originally listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, but now he will miss at least four games.
In his third season, Spector made three starts this year in place of Terrel Bernard. When he wasn’t starting, Spector served as the main backup to Dorian Williams, who has been filling in for Matt Milano at the outside linebacker position.
Milano tore his left biceps in August and is not expected to return until early December.
The AFC East-leading Bills (7-2) also promoted wide receivers Tyrell Shavers and K.J. Hamler from their practice squad. Buffalo may be short on receivers, as rookie Keon Coleman is expected to miss several weeks with a wrist injury, and Amari Cooper is listed as questionable to play due to a left wrist injury.
