When Jadeveon Clowney joined the Panthers recently, he mentioned that he wanted his old high school teammate Stephon Gilmore to join him there too.
Gilmore hasn’t signed with the team yet, but it’s still an option. Earlier this year, Gilmore and the Panthers talked about it, and General Manager Dan Morgan said on Thursday that they’re still open to the idea.
They’ll keep the door open for a little longer. Morgan said they’ll think about adding Gilmore to the team after the draft next week.
Gilmore played for the Panthers in 2021, then went to the Colts and Cowboys for the last two years. His best years were with the Patriots from 2017 to 2020. He was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 and made two All-Pro teams before coming to Carolina.
