Dallas’ 20-15 win over the New York Giants on Thursday night drew an average of 16.22 million viewers, according to Nielsen.
This makes it the most-streamed NFL regular-season game ever and Amazon Prime Video’s most-watched game since taking over the prime-time package in 2022.
These Nielsen numbers are early estimates from their rating panel. More detailed figures, which will include data from set-top boxes, smart TVs, and other streaming services, will be available on Monday.
The two most-watched streamed regular-season games have featured the Cowboys.
The previous record was 15.26 million viewers for the Cowboys’ 41-35 win against the Seattle Seahawks on November 30, 2023, which was also a Thursday night game on Prime Video.
The audience for Thursday’s game peaked at 18.10 million during the second quarter, setting a record for Prime Video. This slightly surpassed the 18.09 million viewers during the second quarter of the Buffalo Bills-Miami Dolphins game two weeks prior.
After three weeks, “Thursday Night Football on Prime” is averaging 14.88 million viewers, which is a 25% increase compared to last season.
